6/10/2024 Sheep to Shawl Event- on Saturday- Generously Sponsored by Chautauqua Artisans Marketplace Have you ever wondered how fiber from a sheep is turned to cloth in order to create the clothing you wear? Saturday, June 29th is the day you can have a chance to see the entire process! At Centennial Park, the Fall River Fibers group will host a Sheep to Shawl event at the Main Street Arts & Crafts Festival in Hot Springs, SD. This educational and entertaining project is sponsored by Fall River Fibers. Watch a sheep being sheared at 10 am followed by fiber cleaning, carding and spinning demonstrations throughout the day. The final spun yarn will be used to create a one of a kind hand woven shawl which will be raffled off at the Fall River County Fair in August with proceeds going to helping fund the 4H textile project. This is a Saturday only demonstration and will be at the Chautauqua Artisans booth.
